Tech Specs:

The NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S from Nikon, ultra-wide with a flexible-yet-exact design, is a wide-angle zoom characterised by its advanced optical design and bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture. When shooting handheld, this quick design suits operating in low-light conditions and also provides improved field control depth.

In order to achieve high sharpness and transparency along with precise rendering of subjects and point light sources, such as stars, the optical system utilises four extra-low dispersion elements and three aspherical elements, which eliminate a range of aberrations and distortion. For enhanced contrast and colour fidelity, ARNEO and Nano Crystal Coats, as well as a Super Integrated Coating, were also applied to suppress flare, ghosting, and surface reflections.

Complementing the optical architecture, a stepping motor helps to achieve impressively fast, precise, and quiet autofocus output to fit both stills and video needs, along with full-time manual focus override. The lens also has a distinctive physical design which includes a top OLED information panel that can be used to check aperture and focus settings easily, and an assignable L.Fn button allows the lens to make changes to exposure and settings.

Depending on working needs, two lens hoods are included with the Z 14-24mm f/2.8: the HB-96 retains a sleeker overall size, while the HB-97 hood offers the unique benefit of allowing 112mm threaded philtres to be mounted. Additionally, a programmable control ring can be set over a range of camera and exposure settings for intuitive adjustment.

Take the horizon with the shortest and lightest 1 f/2.8 ultra wide-angle lens in the world. Achieve a wider range of speech and experience a high degree of sharpness, detail, colour and contrast thanks to the amazing rendering capabilities of the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S. This S-Line lens covers an extensive focal range, great for nature lovers and urban explorers, which makes it ideal for capturing a variety of subjects and scenes for either stills or video, especially as it weighs in at only about 650g.

Achieve high image quality with lower sensitivities and enjoy the freedom of using faster shutter speeds to control subject blur, even in darker environments, with the lens’ constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 throughout the entire 14mm to 24mm zoom range. With the Z mount system’s large diameter and short flange focal distance, experience superior resolution all the way to the extreme edges of the frame.

Reproduce, diligently, what you see in the world around you. If you are shooting starscapes or nightscapes, the adoption of three aspherical components with four aspherical surfaces effectively controls sagittal coma flare, even at full aperture. With the four ED glass elements, they offer sharper resolution without colour fringing, particularly in landscapes, which also effectively reduces axial chromatic aberration.

Shoot spectacular sunrises and sunsets with excellent backlight resistance in all their glory, thanks to the Nano Crystal Coat and ARNEO Coat that effectively suppresses ghosting and flares regardless of the direction in which the light enters the lens.

1. When it comes to making films and shooting with the same edge-to-edge consistency as you do with pictures, be assured. For the ultimate shooting experience during events, an autofocus (AF) system using a stepping motor (STM) and a buttonless control ring makes this lens quieter than ever before.

2. With the multipurpose control ring, you can easily change a number of functions for a smooth and relaxed all-round user experience. Plus, the accurate aperture regulation and reliable stable exposure control (AE) from the electro-magnetic aperture system of the lens effectively stabilises exposure during continuous shooting if you pass through different lighting conditions during your shooting, such as from indoors to outdoors.

3. Feel a sense of familiarity and be in control, so you can concentrate on capturing your scenes with a functionality and style similar to previous ones. This lens can be easily tailored to your needs by supporting two types of filters, the traditional screw-on and rear gel, as well as two direct filters attachment lens hood options and a standard lens hood. Information such as aperture value, shooting distance and depth of field is displayed in an easy-to-read information screen, making it ideal for when it is placed on a tripod. Customize with the lens feature (L-Fn) button that allows you to easily access your favourite modes as you please.

4.Do not be afraid to carry on your adventures with this lens. This lens is well sealed against the elements, with improved durability with superior dust and drip-resistant2 results. The fluorine coating added to the outer surface of the lens portion allows cleaning a breeze to effectively repel any fouling or possible pollutants.
